CulTourE4Youth Project Hosted Two Additional Workshops
“CulTourE4Youth – Supporting Youth Entrepreneurship in Cultural Tourism for coastal communities” is a project coordinated by the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC); under the direction of the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) in cooperation with the CPMR Balkan and Black Sea Commission and the Black Sea CONNECT coordinator METU Institute of Marine Sciences.
Following the 1st Mersin Workshop held on 30 November 2021, the 2nd Mersin Workshop was held on October 12th, 2022 to bring together future tourism professionals, including academics, experts, and entrepreneurs.
The workshop highlighted the Black Sea CONNECT initiative within the context of the blue economy, addressing sustainable tourism and cultural routes, youth entrepreneurship, financial resources, and more. In addition, productive discussions took place among young individuals who have received education in tourism and entrepreneurship, focusing on entrepreneurial ideas, opportunities, and needs.
Later on, commenced on 16-17 February, CulTourE4Youth Batumi Workshop was held with opening remarks delivered by representatives from the organizing entities, including BBSC CPMR, BSEC, and ICBSS.
Throughout the workshop, participants were treated to insightful speeches focusing on various topics such as the Blue Economy, sustainable tourism, the development of blue skills, and cross-border cooperation. The aim was to provide support and guidance for young entrepreneurs in these areas. The workshop served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and fostering collaboration among participants, promoting the growth and success of youth entrepreneurship in the tourism sector.
During the Batumi Workshop, the coordination team of Black Sea CONNECT from METU-IMS presented the outcomes and key highlights of the 1st workshop, which had taken place in Mersin in November 2021. The team shared valuable insights gained from the previous workshop, showcasing the progress made and significant achievements in the interim period.
