EU4Ocean “Launching ‘Let’s make the Black Sea Blue!”

Prepared by the EU4Ocean Coalition and supported by the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission, the “Let’s Make the Black Sea Blue” Ocean Literacy Festival has been launched just around the October 31st Black Sea Action Day.

The aim of the event was to provide a space for productive interactions between young people, teachers, policymakers, and government representatives, NGOs, and all relevant stakeholders with a specific focus on maritime litter.

Black Sea Connect and Black Sea Young Ambassador Selma Menabit from Romania as representative of Black Sea Youth have joined the festival and shared their experiences and views to enhance ocean literacy in the Black Sea countries.

As part of the event, Black Sea Young Ambassadors took significant action together and they pledged to be the voice of the Black Sea by heeding the call made by the Make EU Blue advocacy campaign of EU4Ocean, for citizens, businesses, organizations, officials, educators, and celebrities to pledge to help the ocean.
