VECOP DAY 2021: The Black Sea Wind in our sails, to the ocean we want!

Black Sea Young Ambassadors joined the Virtual Early Career Ocean Professional Day which was a 24 hours live event around the world on June 1-2, for ECOPs to discuss their role and oceans related contributions to the UN Ocean Decade.

Our very own Young Ambassadors joined the Ocean and Society session in the VECOP DAY 2021 with a video specifically made for the Decade and they presented their Appreciation Sign for the ocean and seas.

With their motto; “The Black Sea Wind in our sails, to the ocean we want!” The Black Sea Young Ambassadors have succeeded to enhance the visibility of the Black Sea by giving point to the uniqueness, importance and the multiple stressors threatening the Black Sea’s resilience and health.

The Black Sea Wind in our sails, to the ocean we want!

Black Sea Young Ambassadors are young early career ocean professionals who come from different backgrounds in marine and maritime research, industry, policy, environmental NGO and either in educational programmes or in the early stages of their carrier. 17 young ambassadors from 7 Black Sea riparian countries come together with a common vision for productive, healthy, resilient, sustainable and better-valued Black Sea under the umbrella of EU funded Black Sea CONNECT CSA. Since September 2020, they conduct activities to raise awareness of this unique sea.
